Enhanced financial assistance for the replacement of windows and patio doors

The Rénoclimat program encourages homeowners to improve the energy efficiency of their homes by providing financial assistance. This assistance applies when replacing windows or sliding patio doors within existing openings..

A simplified participation process
New procedures apply to the energy assessment of the work.
BEFORE the work ➜ Optional It is now optional (though recommended, with a grant of up to $500 available)
AFTER the work ➜ Not required It is no longer required for new participants.
A transition period lasting until March 31, 2027, applies to participants who began their process before October 1, 2026.

Enhanced energy performance requirements
To be eligible, a product must now be recognized as an ENERGY STAR® "Most Efficient" model. It must meet one of the following two criteria: an ER (Energy Rating) factor greater than or equal to 40, or a U-factor greater than or equal to 1.05 (0.18).

Entrance doors are no longer eligible
Only the replacement of sliding patio doors now qualifies for financial assistance, provided that they meet the new requirements.

The work must be carried out by a contractor who holds the appropriate RBQ licenses.

Financial assistance is calculated per existing rough opening, up to a maximum of $4,500 for a house or $6,000 for a duplex, triplex, or multi-unit residential building.
